They tried to form the concept of the higher educational institution of a new type and chose the most prestigious specialties and worked out curricula to train professionals for developing economics of Ukraine.
A 20-year way from “Cherkasy Branch of the Slavic International Institute of Administration, Business and Law” with a limited number of specialties to East European University, a large diversified educational institution, reflects aspects of extensive labour in faces, achievements and plans. For the past twenty years at our University twelve Doctors and more than thirty Candidates of Sciences have been awarded, more than twenty thousand professionals of different degrees who have been involved in the process of Ukrainian economics and received chief executive positions in various fields and lines of development of Ukraine were trained here. The results of the performed work became the evidence of a worthy potential of a faculty, high-level organization of an educational process, strong material and technical basis of the University. Nowadays our higher educational institution is intensively developing. It embraces Institute of Economics and Management, Law Institute, Institute of Professional Retraining, Institute of Informational Technologies in Education, Institute of Structure and Processes Modelling in Economic System, College of Economics and Management.
To become a part of the national system of education and science the ideas of European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS) are implemented in the system of higher education of the University. The University constantly extends the range of activities, aimed at the search of the talented young people, taking care of their moral and financial support during the whole period of studies.
At our University the system of innovative training methods has been developed; such activities as business and role-playing games, problematic situations, quizzes, tests, disputes etc. make up an essential part of educational process. This system combined with such traditional methods like lectures, seminars and practical trainings shows a qualitative performance of the training process, provides conditions for the creative approach to the practical tasks solution and for the maximal approaching to real life.
An integral part of the competitive specialists training comprises different types of practical trainings. The practice allows students to consolidate knowledge of theory, to acquire the elementary skills of organizational work in a labour collective and to try to identify themselves as future specialists. The University students undergo a practical training all over Ukraine and abroad.
